Our focus is on non-contact measurements with emphasis on optical and laser measurements. The applications are covering a very broad field that can be found in scientific and fundamental metrology, within applied technical or industrial fields and legal and forensic applications. Optical and laser measurements can generally be divided into three basic activities; * definition of internationally accepted units of measurement * realization of these units of measurement in practice * application of chains of traceability linking to reference standards

Laser Vibrometry
Polytec´s wide range of laser vibrometers are acknowledged as gold-standard for non-contact vibration measurement. Laser-Doppler vibrometers analyze samples of different sizes, from entire car bodies, large aerospace parts over engines and actuators to micron-sized MEMS or delicate HDD components.
Optical surface profilers
The instruments are high-precision and non-contact tools for characterizing the surface topography in 3D. The highlights are: Areal measurement with nanometer (nm) vertical resolution, large field-of-view (FOV) for large samples, measuring hard-to-reach areas like holes, fast measurement for short cycle times. TopMap systems measures parameters like step-height, waviness, flatness, parallelism, as well as roughness
Digital Image Correlation
Digital Image Correlation (DIC) is a 3D full-field, non-contact optical technique to measure contour, deformation, vibration and strain on almost any material.
The technique can be used with many tests including tensile, torsion, bending and combined loading for both static and dynamic applications.
It is based on grey value digital images, that can determine the contour and the displacements of an object under load in three dimensions.
The DIC method can be applied from very small (micro) to large testing areas – and the results are readily comparable with FEA results or strain gauges.
Fluid Mechanics
Instrumentation for turbulence and mixing studies, including non-intrusive techniques as well as solutions based on physical sensors.
Spray and Particle
Our Phase Doppler Anemometry (PDA) systems measure the size, velocity and concentration of spherical particles, droplets, or bubbles suspended in gaseous or liquid flows. The DynamicStudio Shadow Sizer measures size, shape and velocity of particles using backlighting and image analysis software.
Spectroscopy
Portable & compact miniature spectrometers with fiber optics for UV, VIS, and NIR measurements in the 190-2300 nm range. Complete systems and application specific solutions range is broad.
Laser Sensors
Acuity’s laser measurement sensors and laser scanners are precision devices based on non-contact measurement principle. This includes laser triangulation solutions, pulsed time-of-flight sensors, confocal displacement sensors for dimension, thickness or roughness measurements and
2D/3D laser line sensors
Combustion
We offer a range of measurement solutions for diagnostics throughout all stages of the combustion and heating process. By handling measurements of combustion radicals, pollutants, fuel tracers etc., the system enables studies of a vast number of phenomena, such as fuel injections, ignition phenomena and flame fronts, ultimately improving the understanding of combustion processes. Laser…
Colour and Light Measurements
Measuring colour or light with imaging systems, spectrometers, colorimeters or light meters can be useful in many different applications. We offer a broad range of test and measurement instruments focused on these parameters for all environments. Imaging colorimeters / spectrometers The ultimate imaging colorimeter with an integrated NIST-traceable calibrated spectrophotometer [380-780nm] and a fast sampling…
Inspection Systems
greateyes offers imaging systems for the inspection in the semiconductor- and solar industry, as well as for comprehensive characterisation in research and development. The systems feature outstanding sensitivity, short integration times, excellent image quality and intuitive handling.
Thermal Comfort
Our ComfortSense system is designed for research and development of heating and air conditioning systems requiring multi-point measurements of air velocity and temperature.
Thermoelastic Stress Analysis (TSA)
Thermoelastic Stress Analysis (TSA) is an optical, non-contact measurement technique, meaning it requires no mechanical connection to the test object surface.
