DPa-Double-Lever-Actuators

Piezo-Actuators

Piezo-Actuators are solid-state bodies, which are deforming when being charged electrically. There is no stiction or friction involved, so that the resolution of displacements is only limited by the noise of the charge-supplying electronics. Read more

Nano-Positioning

Nanopositioning is optimally done by piezo-drives in combination flexures for levers and guidance. Relative to the maximum displacements, resolutions of 5 ppm, repeatabilities of 50 ppm and linearities of 100 ppm are possible. Read more

Piezo-Stages 1D-2D-3D, Tip-Tilt

Piezo-Stages 1D-2D-3D are available in the range scale from 100 µm up tp 1 mm in various configurations X, Z, XY, XYZ. Piezo-driven platforms tip and tilt reflective optics in only milliseconds. Resolutions are of nano-rad magnitude. The standard version with 12 mrad deflection is made for optics with up to 2″ diameter. Versions for larger optics are available. Single-Axis platforms and special solutions are of course possible and partly existing already. Read more

Drivers (Open Loop)

If highest stroke length performance is needed, parameter like hysteresis and drift will have an impact. If the application of a piezo-actuator can do with those effects, then just a driver supplying electrical power is needed. Read more

Controllers (Closed Loop)

Digital controllers allow for easily adapting and optimizing control parameters (PID, notch-filters) and exchangeability of connected mechanics (ID-Chip). Such controllers are typically equipped with analogue and digital interfaces – USB, Ethernet, and RS232. Graphical user interfaces (GUI) provide examination features like oscilloscope (view step-responses, rest-noise, etc.) and FFT. Read more

Precision Positioners & Scanners

Our stages offer high-performance for a wide variety of applications. Stepper motor stages with ball-screws or lead-screws are often used in positioning applications due to their high stiffness. Linear motor stages are preferred when higher speeds and accelerations are required. All stages are designed and built in our facilities in Middleton, WI and Aliso Viejo, CA. Read more

Nanopositioning Electronics

nPoint provides a variety of controllers and piezo drivers for operation of our nanopositioning stages in closed-loop or open-loop mode. The controllers combine ultra-low-noise driver electronics and motion sensing modules with DSP-based servo control. They utilize capacitive or strain gauge sensing technology. Their many interfaces and advanced features makes them a great value in demanding nanopositioning applications. Read more
